Sam Faustine is an award-winning San Francisco-born-and-raised musician and actor who performs a wide variety of genres ranging from Baroque opera to modern musical theatre. Most recently, he played Dr. Lyman Hall in Paper Mill Playhouse’s widely acclaimed production of 1776. Sam was a member of the first national tour of Broadway’s A Christmas Carol and has made three appearances as a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, most recently performing the Roasted Swan in Carmina Burana.
In musical theatre, Sam has appeared in Europe, China, and across the United States in roles such as Anthony in Sweeney Todd, Dr. Pomatter in Waitress, Tony in West Side Story, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Curly in Oklahoma!, and Candide in Candide. In addition to his stage career, Sam performs with many early music and sacred music ensembles across the country, most notably the internationally touring Byrd Ensemble.
Sam has been part of two GRAMMY Award-winning projects: Terry Riley’s Sun Rings (Best Engineered Album, Classical, 2020) and Saariaho’s Adriana Mater (Best Opera Recording, 2025). When not performing classical music and musical theatre, Sam sings in a QUEEN tribute band portraying Freddie Mercury.
Craig Hansen is an active horn player based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He currently serves as Fourth Horn with both the Santa Rosa Symphony and the Santa Cruz Symphony, and is the regular horn player at San Francisco’s Orpheum Theatre. Recent productions there have included the national tours of The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, and Wicked.
Mr. Hansen performs regularly with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, and San Francisco Ballet. He also frequently performs with the Berkeley Symphony, California Symphony, Oakland Symphony, Marin Symphony, Stockton Symphony, Symphony San Jose, and Opera San José. His career has also taken him internationally, having served as Principal/Third Horn with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco in Mexico, as a “Future of Orchestral Culture” Fellow with the Hamburg Symphoniker in Germany, and as a touring musician with the North American tour of Les Misérables. His playing can be heard on recordings ranging from classical albums on Albany Records to the soundtrack for Craig Before the Creek on Cartoon Network and The Ironsides’ album Changing Light.
Mr. Hansen holds a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Robert Ward, former Principal Horn of the San Francisco Symphony, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Denver, where he studied with Susan McCullough of Denver Brass. His undergraduate studies also included a semester abroad with David Pyatt, Principal Horn of the Royal Opera House Orchestra. He has performed at prestigious summer festivals around the world, including the Pacific Music Festival, Kent/Blossom Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, and the International Mendelssohn Festival. He has also been mentored by Mark Almond, Principal Horn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Ab Koster, international soloist and former Principal Horn of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra; and Sarah Willis, Fourth Horn with the Berlin Philharmonic.
