Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.

Mission Statement
Pacific Chamber Orchestra, now in its 33rd season, is a regional professional ensemble dedicated to sustaining and extending the rich heritage of classical music for a chamber orchestra of 8 to 42 musicians through inspiring performances and engaging educational programs.
PCO musicians have performed in the SF Symphony; and the orchestras of the SF Opera, SF Ballet, Curran Theater, and Skywalker Sound Studios. They are recording artists, tour internationally in chamber music groups and are acclaimed as concerto soloists.
PCO blends the intimate clarity of chamber music with symphonic sonic power to create an enticing palate of tonal textures. Works are drawn from Baroque through the most Contemporary with the Symphonies of Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms forming the heart of the repertoire.
Audiences feel they are part of the performance, able to enjoy subtle details while basking in full ensemble sonorities. Maestro Kohl’s concert programs and introductions are uniquely designed to illuminate connecting musical threads.
PCO is a resident company of Livermore’s Bankhead Theater and holds a concert series in Lamorinda. PCO has performed to critical acclaim in San Francisco, Napa and Walnut Creek. A typical season consists of four main concerts, the Dream American Emerging Composers new works program, and PCO’s extensive educational programs.
