Bartender Application

Dear Bartender,

You are invited to participate in Pacific Chamber Orchestra’s (PCO) 3rd annual Tri-Valley Craft Cocktail Competition on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, from 4:00-6:30 pm on the plaza green in front of Livermore’s Bankhead Theater. Proceeds will support PCO’s educational programs and main concerts.

This is a super fun sell-out event that affords you the opportunity to win bartender bragging rights, make new followers and score prize money while supporting music education in Tri-Valley schools!

To ensure that the competition is fair, and, that this remains a tasting event, the requirements for participation and prize consideration are that you:
  • serve your cocktail in the 1.75 oz mini-shot glasses TVC3 provides the attendees. [No bar or outside drink glasses allowed.]
  • create a cocktail original for TVC3 – this must not on your bar menu — each year of TVC3 is to be unique. You are challenged to dream up new & delicious libation!
  • bring a 10×10 pop up tent and have a bar backer with you
  • limit to one drink per attendee by marking off their drink card
  • follow day of procedures timely set-up, event practices, and clean up

Please submit the below form no later than March 20th. It is highly advised that you submit ASAP as the number of participants is limited to 20. We were very near our maximum last year, and we are already seeing growing interest this year. If you are accepted, you must provide the drink name, description and list of ingredients (not the recipe) by April 15th.

To have enough for the event it is suggested that you bring four gallons of cocktails (including alcohol and other ingredients), enough for about 400 mini-cocktails. TVC3 will provide two 6′ long tables (one for serving and one for prep), ice, buckets, and table identification. TVC3 will give you a $100 stipend at the event towards your expenses

Attendees will be issued shot glasses and drink cards to sample one from each participating bar. TVC3 will provide rinse stations for cleaning their glasses between tastings, food nibbles from local restaurants, snacks and water.

Except for the audience favorite award, prizes will be determined by a panel of judges who will sample each of the 18 bartenders starting at 4:00 pm. VIPs will also enter at 4:00pm and general admission will be at 4:30 pm. Awards will be announced around 6:30pm.

  • $600 trophy and Mixologist of the Year honors to the first place.
  • $400 and $200 plus trophies to the second and third place.
  • $300 and trophy for Audience Favorite.
  • $200 and $100 plus trophies for 1st and 2nd place Best Table Displays (based on beauty, creativity and matching theme / mood of drink. You are encouraged to go all out!
